Our Story — A Trinidadian-Canadian Family Kitchen in Morriston
Meet the Marshall Family
We’re the Marshall family, and Rise & Shine is our way of sharing food that feels personal. Our roots, our family table, and our love for brunch all come together here in Morriston.
We wanted to create a place with heart — somewhere breakfast, brunch, and dinner could feel relaxed, fun, and full of island flavour. From the first plate to the last sip, we care about making every visit feel welcoming.

From Trinidad to Morriston
Our story begins with Trinidadian roots and continues here in Morriston, Ontario. We took the bold, sunny flavours we grew up with and blended them with the breakfast and brunch favourites people already love.
That’s why our menu has its own personality. It’s not about being a strictly traditional Trinidadian restaurant. It’s about bringing Caribbean-inspired flavour into a familiar brunch experience, with dishes that feel comforting, colourful, and a little unexpected.
Morriston gives us the perfect home for that. Close to Guelph, Puslinch, Aberfoyle, and the Hwy 6 corridor, our restaurant has become a small-town stop with a bright island feeling.
What Caribbean Brunch Means to Us
To us, Caribbean brunch means classic comfort with more colour, spice, and soul — from breakfast favourites to island-inspired plates. It’s familiar enough to enjoy anytime, but bold enough to remember.
